Derick Dupre was born in New York City and grew up in Connecticut, and has since sojourned in Paris, New Orleans, Los Angeles, and other places here and abroad. He is the author of Frail Shrines, a volume of short fictions. His work is forthcoming or featured in publications including NOON, New York Tyrant, Eyeshot, Sleepingfish, and Hobart. In 2015, he was a finalist for the Lamar York Prize for Fiction. He is a founding editor of The White Elephant. Currently, he is based in Bisbee, AZ and working on a novel.
